About the role
As a Technical Officer – Quality Assurance/Quality Control , you will play a vital role in ensuring SA Pharmacy's manufactured pharmaceutical products meet the highest quality and safety standards. Working as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to daily quality control operations, ensuring compliance with the Australian Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), the Therapeutic Goods Act, and NATA accreditation where applicable.
Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance/Control Scientist – State-wide Lead, you’ll carry out a range of responsibilities including microbial monitoring, analytical testing, and the refinement of techniques to maintain product efficacy and stability. You'll also support the training and coordination of pharmacy graduates and other staff in quality procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-focused professional who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a regulated healthcare environment.
About You
You are a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional with a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and microbiology. Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team ensures accurate, high-quality outcomes in a regulated laboratory environment.

Demonstrated experience in laboratory-based quality control and assurance, including microbiology and analytical chemistry techniques such as HPLC.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise tasks, maintain confidentiality, and implement standardised procedures.

Proven ability to communicate effectively, solve complex problems, and train or supervise both professional and non-professional staff.

Sound knowledge of aseptic techniques, equipment maintenance, quality principles, and Work Health & Safety requirements within healthcare or industrial settings.
