THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $78,564 - $111,391 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: 2 x 1.0 EFT (full-time) & 1 x 0.4 EFT (part-time).
Location: Chadstone, Moorabbin and Waverley campuses – onsite parking.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing employment of contract with a 6-month qualifying period.

Holmesglen Vocational College offers a supportive environment where secondary students can complete their Years 11 and 12 through the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM).

About the Role

We are seeking three compassionate, dedicated and qualified teachers to join our team at Holmesglen Vocational College. In this role, you will:

  • Teach VPC/VCE VM subjects to young and senior secondary students.
  • Develop differentiated learning materials to meet the needs of diverse students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance program delivery and student outcomes.
  • Prepare students for future study and employment opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Four-year teaching degree or postgraduate qualification with current VIT registration.
  • Demonstrated experience working with disengaged youth and applying trauma-informed teaching strategies.
  • Compassionate approach supported by strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound knowledge and/or practical experience in trauma-informed practice and inclusive pedagogies.
  • Proven capability to engage and teach both junior and senior secondary students.
  • Committed to fostering inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environments.
  • Skilled in designing and delivering tailored learning materials for youth-focused programs.
  • Collaborative, student-centred teaching style with a focus on individual learning needs.
