About the role

The Event Producer plays a key role in the planning, production, and delivery of major outdoor festivals and public events for the City of Parramatta. Reporting to the Team Leader, Events & Festivals Production, the role is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational delivery of high-impact events across Parramatta’s annual events and festivals calendar.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on outdoor event experience who is ready to step up into a leadership role. You’ll lead the delivery of complex, large-scale productions in a fast-paced, high-profile local government environment. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, artists, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure all production elements meet Councils strategic, safety, and quality standards.

You'll join a passionate and collaborative team that delivers some of Western Sydney’s most visible and culturally significant events.

As an Event Producer you will:

  • Produce and lead the delivery of production and operations for a wide range of major public events in the Events & Festivals annual program in accordance with an agreed event brief, strategic direction, project management framework, and desired outcomes for the event.
  • Generate and contribute innovative ideas and insights to enhance the production, programming, strategic planning, and overall vision for the Events and Festivals program.
  • Utilise Council’s endorsed project management framework to ensure all aspects of an event are well managed and key deliverables are achieved including delivering events within the allocated budget.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, memos, and Council papers as required, and develop and implement creative event programming in line with approved event briefs.
  • Collaborate with the Events and Festivals team members to develop event-specific marketing and communications briefs including liaising with other areas within the City Engagement & Experience Directorate.
  • Support the Marketing and Promotions team to deliver aspects of the event marketing campaign as required.
  • Coordinate the engagement of contractors, artists and/or suppliers involved in the delivery of events in accordance with Council’s procurement policy and procedures.
  • Lead/support the Events and Festivals team to deliver events onsite, coordinating and managing aspects of the event production and delivery as required.
  • Work with the Event Partnership and Sponsorship Lead to create tailored sponsorship packages, proposals and briefs for events and assist in the coordination the delivery of on-site sponsorship activations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications, such as Marketing, Event Management, Communications, Hospitality (or related discipline) or another relevant qualification
  • A significant amount of relevant outdoor events and festival production experience (typically 5 years) in a project is required.
  • Proven experience delivering successful large public or private events, or similar activities or projects in the arts, cultural or related fields, demonstrating skills in complex project management and project leadership.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the production aspects of large-scale public events including the provision of sound and lighting, staging, site management, risk management and risk mitigation, public safety, traffic, security and crowd management, and waste management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the entertainment and events industry, artists, performers, booking agencies etc.

What’s on offer

We are offering a full-time permanent position with an attractive remuneration from $101,563.70 to $111,820.26 plus 11.5% superannuation.
