  • Ongoing Full-Time position
  • Location: Parramatta with convenient access to major public transport hubs in Parramatta
  • Salary ranges from $145,378 to $168,130 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role
The position of Manager, A&T Implementation and Support is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001 in NSW and assisting the Commissioner for Vocational Training, holding many of the delegated functions under the Act. The role manages the development of policy implementation guidelines and operational procedures, and educational, promotional, and training resources to support the implementation of the Act. The support provided by the Manager Implementation and Support is targeted towards Training Services field staff, over 90,000 apprentices and trainees currently in training, 30,000+ employers, TAFE NSW and NSW Registered Training providers.

About you
This role has a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and dispute resolution. You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders including employers, industry bodies, unions, registered training organisations (RTOs), and young adults entering the workforce. Your ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across these groups will be key to your success.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A thorough understanding of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001 and the regulated Training Industry in NSW.
  • Proven ability to lead and support geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience developing policy, procedures, and practical resources that support effective program implementation.
  • A collaborative and strategic mindset with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes for learners and industry.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
