Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
The Oral Health Therapist will provide high-quality general oral health care and education to eligible patients across Western Sydney Local Health District.

  • Services will primarily be delivered via mobile dental vans and portable equipment at schools, hospitals, residential aged care facilities, and other community locations. This role also includes participation in oral health promotion and population health initiatives.
  • The position may also include rostered shifts at fixed WSLHD Oral Health clinics.

Essential Requirements

  • Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Oral Health Therapist, dual trained Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist or singularly trained Dental Therapist.


Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated sound clinical and diagnostic skills.
  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
  3. A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative / population health approach to patient care.
  4. A demonstrated ability to work within a large multidisciplinary team and independently.
  5. Be able to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including fellow health care workers and the general public.
  6. A demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
  7. Hold a current Class C Licence and willing to take shared responsibility for safe driving of various fleet vehicles between locations in Western Sydney and back to the base location. This may include occasional operation of a 4.5 tonne Mobile Dental Van (Class C licence compatible).
