About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join the Public Health Unit in South Western Sydney.
This new role will play a vital role in educating Nurses in the Public Health Unit, particularly Nurse Immunisers in our Priority Population Immunisation Project across the Local Health District.
This is a great opportunity to develop nurses to provide population based health care in collaboration with facilities and services to deliver the quality and safe care, leading to healthier communities for our unique community.
This position provides a unique opportunity for a CNE to work part-time.
You will be working with a passionate multidisciplinary team including Drs, CNCs Registered Nurses, Health Managers, Health officers, an epidemiologist and Data Quality and administrators.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver a clinical education program and provide support to multidisciplinary teams in the Public Health Unit (PHU) and other SWSLHD facilities and services, in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants to develop a workforce capable of implementing vaccination services in alignment with the Priority Population Immunisation Plan (PPIP).

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Authorised Nurse Immuniser, postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education postgraduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Outline your recent experience working as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant specialty.
  3. As a nurse immuniser, what do you see are important qualities to be able fulfill the role?
  4. Nurses Immunisers have a very autonomous role. You have a novice Nurse Immuniser in your team and they need to be able to be developed to immunise in a clinic. What would be your approach to ensure they are competent, confident and safe to practice in a clinic that has limited supervision?
  5. As a Clinical Nurse educator, how would you ensure currency and continuity of professional development of the staff in your team?
