We are a not-for-profit Company limited by guarantee and a registered Community Health Service under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic).

Gateway Health serves all people and is committed to improving individual and population health outcomes. We do this by providing health care and support to individuals and communities in times of need, and by actively working with our partners to address the social and environmental determinants of health.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about community wellbeing and ready to make a meaningful impact in reducing gambling-related harm? Gateway Health is seeking a motivated and community-minded Venue Support Worker (VSW) to join our dynamic Gambler’s Help Program team.
Gambler’s Help is a state-wide initiative funded by the Department of Health, designed to address gambling harm through an integrated mix of prevention, early intervention, and treatment strategies. The program supports individuals and families affected by gambling, works to strengthen community awareness, and fosters safer gambling environments.
As a Venue Support Worker, you will be a key player in early intervention efforts, working directly with gaming venues to create safer gambling environments. You will:
Deliver training, including Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG), to venue staff.
Support venues in implementing harm minimisation strategies aligned with industry codes of conduct.
Build strong working relationships between gaming venues and support services.
Promote best practices that reduce the risk of gambling-related harm in our community.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families across the Ovens Murray region.
ABOUT YOU
You are a passionate and proactive individual who thrives on building strong community connections and making a positive social impact. With a background in community services, education, public health, or a related field, you bring a strong understanding of the factors contributing to gambling harm and a commitment to harm minimisation.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including venue staff, community organisations, and individuals experiencing gambling-related harm. You are confident delivering training and facilitating discussions, with the ability to tailor your approach to different audiences.
Organised and self-motivated, you work well both independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality outcomes. You understand the importance of discretion and empathy when dealing with sensitive issues and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Your values align with Gateway Health’s commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and community wellbeing. You are ready to contribute to a supportive team environment and to play a key role in reducing gambling-related harm across the Ovens Murray region.
