About Your Role
The Senior Peer Worker, Suicide Prevention Services works under the direction of the Manager, SPOT and Safe Haven, to support the peer workforce and ensure delivery of high quality care to people accessing the services.
Drawing on their relevant qualifications and professional experience, the Senior Peer Worker, Suicide Prevention Services will provide guidance and support to Peer Support Workers in the SPOT and Safe Haven teams. This will include role modelling professional practice standards, providing individual and group supervision and delivering workplace education.
You will also use your personal lived experience of suicidal crisis to provide appropriate responsive care to visitors to the Safe Haven service; a warm, welcoming, non-medical environment. Working with other members of the multidisciplinary team, you will support people accessing the SPOT service and link them with other appropriate services as required.
The position also works with the Coordinator Consumer Participation Strategy, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol services to participate in peer supervision and undertake activities to inform the strategic development of the MLHD peer workforce.
The Safe Haven and SPOT services operate from 1330 – 2200 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Evening and weekend work is a requirement of the position.
