About the Practice and the growth opportunity
RFDS Robinvale Health Services offers GP and Nurse Practitioner care and treatment to a diverse rural community and through both face-to-face and telehealth services. We are open 5 days per week Monday to Friday, 0830 to 1700. We are seeking an experienced individual who can manage this clinic with a view to grow the business and other clinics across the region. Your role will be to build a business health model that works.
About the Role
The Practice Manager Leader will be responsible for both the RFDS GP clinic strategy and business development, starting by building a highly functional team and model in Robinvale. They will initially support the day-to-day operations and manage administrative and clinical staff, lead practice risk management and quality improvement processes, maintain financial records and provide clinical support. This position will inform the successful development of Robinvale, with a view to establish a model for additional clinics across the region in the longer term.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Implementing a developed 12-month business plan targeting sustainability, expansion and growth
- Autonomously manage a team of support staff and have specialist skills and experience in relationship management, finance management and general operational management.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice and mentor up team staff to take this position forward as you develop a growth business plan.
- Oversee billing, budgeting, and financial reporting to support efficient practice operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries and concerns
- People management including staff scheduling, coaching, mentoring, performance management, recruitment and training
- Maintain awareness of current and new legislation to ensure business is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations including industrial & employment law, OHS requirements, and privacy obligations
To be successful, you will need:
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in medical practice management and demonstrated people management skills.
- Thorough understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), applicable incentives and other funding streams.
- Experience in managing a small business/office including human resources, planning, budgeting & reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
- Ability to problem solve, think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and experience of medical software and sound experience in Microsoft Office applications
- Current CPR (or willing to obtain one)
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children’s Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
