Description:
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is looking for an experienced privacy professional to undertake the role of Senior Information Access Officer to 30 June 2026.
About the job
Reporting to the Manager, Information Access, you will:
- develop and deliver privacy preventative, compliance and awareness projects across the department;
- review existing privacy policies and procedures;
- provide privacy advice and conduct privacy impact assessments and advise on mitigation strategies;
- stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry trends and promote and demonstrate best practice;
- support the processing of requests under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 and provision of responses to Parliamentary Orders for the production of documents.
About you
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience working in a similar role focusing on privacy legislation and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in the application of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 .
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of FOI legislation and FOI administration is desirable, but not necessary.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 Jume 2026. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
