  • Facilitate the smooth operation of the CFR Secretariat function.

About the role

As an Engagement Advisor in the CFR team within the Financial Stability Department, you will play a supporting role in delivering the Council’s program of work aimed at enhancing the resilience of the Australian financial system. The CFR team at the RBA coordinates the Council’s activities, bringing together the RBA, APRA, ASIC, and the Treasury on various priority areas, and provides Secretariat support to the Council. You will assist in planning and organising the team’s activities, facilitating regular communication and effective coordination among the agencies involved in the various workstreams.

The role is expected to be for a 1-year secondment or fixed term, during which you will contribute to the smooth operation of the CFR Secretariat while supporting broader initiatives of the Financial Stability Department. Activities will include planning and organising meetings and events, integrating best practices in the team’s activities, preparing briefings and minutes, managing correspondence and maintaining records. You will work closely with representatives of the CFR agencies to facilitate effective engagement, and help coordinate the delivery of high-quality inputs to the CFR.

You will report to the Manager of the CFR team, but this is a cross-cutting role and you will engage daily with other agencies on the Council, as well as with other parts of the Financial Stability Department and other Departments at the RBA. The role is open to applicants with a background in regulatory affairs, coordination and liaison roles.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience in regulatory affairs or coordination/liaison roles, preferably within a financial system policy or regulatory environment.

  • Display strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Be able to work independently and in a highly organized manner, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

  • Hold a relevant qualification or degree in administration, business, or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role within the Australian financial system is desirable but not essential.
