Glenorchy City Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in a newly created role and contribute to the development of a high-performing and engaged workforce.

In this strategic role, you will collaborate with leaders and staff across the organisation to provide expert advice and guidance on a broad range of HR functions, including workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and organisational development. Your ability to implement best-practice people strategies, cultivate a positive workplace culture, and drive continuous improvement will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a Learning and Development Officer.
  • Provide expert support to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Agreement, assisting the Manager of Human Resources with reviews and updates.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to foster a sustainable, high-performing workforce.
  • Enhance employee engagement and wellbeing, contributing to a positive organisational culture.
  • Collect, analyse, and report on key HR metrics, including employee engagement, turnover, absenteeism, and wellbeing program effectiveness.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have substantial experience in a similar HR position, coupled with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Your expertise will help shape Glenorchy City Council as an employer of choice, supporting the organisation in achieving its goal of being a high-performing and inclusive workplace.
