Operations Support Service (OSS) provides centrally located, specialist operation support to Districts, Local Services Areas (LSAs) and Crime Service.
The Firearms Branch issues licences for firearms and ammunition, approves and registers firearms and issues permits for prohibited weapons.
The Senior Adjudicator reports to the Adjudication Section Supervisor and is accountable for the efficient investigation, adjudication, and liaison of firearms related matters to ensure only fit and proper persons are issued with firearms licences or permits and to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Firearms Act and Regulations and associated legislation. The incumbent is required to provide reliable and accurate information on legislation, policy and procedure and practical application of the Firearms Act and Regulations to operational, prosecution and administrative personnel and members of the public.
Special Conditions
- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
ASO4 - $76,561 - $80,256 per annum.
