About the Role

Due to continued growth, a great opportunity now exists for an experienced individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our Wollongong team as a Testing Technician . This is a permanent, full-time position and the successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, testing and minor repairs of Fire Equipment in accordance with Australian Standards, attending to our major clients in the surrounding region.

The role will require the successful applicant to be able to plan, organize and have excellent time management skills. The applicant must be able to work autonomously as well as demonstrate versatility and support within a team environment.

Primary duties will include:-

  • Routine testing in accordance with Australian Standards for fire protection equipment

  • Maintenance and minor repair of fire protection equipment to Australian Standards including but not limited to, fire extinguishers, hose reels, smoke alarms and fire panels

  • Liaising with customers, promoting a professional and friendly environment

  • Ensuring compliance to Environmental Health and Safety requirements

  • Completing service records using smart device technology

Key qualities we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • Fire industry experience would be highly regarded

  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Strong focus and commitment to workplace safety

  • Excellent customer service and time management

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Good personal presentation

  • Willingness to multi-skill into other areas of fire protection

  • High level computer skills
