An opportunity exists for a Knife Hand/Pick Packer at Classic Meats, Townsville branch.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Meat Manager & Branch Manager, this position requires a motivated and reliable person to work in our processing room with our butchers to provide quality product wide range of customers.
We seek a motivated person who is self-driven and looking to work in a fast-paced friendly environment and can work with minimal supervision.
This is a physical role and ideally knife skills and food safety experience would be highly regarded, there is some heavy lifting involved so being physically capable is also required.
Training in our in-house systems will be provided.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Cutting and dicing to customer’s orders
-
Weighing & recording weights & packing customer orders

Using a cryovac machine
-
Assisting with production of sausages, mince, & crumbing of products

Work co-operatively with all team members
-
General processing room duties and liaise with other departments

Assisting with clean down at the end of day
Skills and Experience required:
-
Knife handling skills
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task

Confident with numbers
-
Reliable and hard working
-
An understanding of the Meat/butchery, foodservice industry or an allied industry would be advantageous

Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

Good communication skills
-
Ability to work in a deadline driven environment

Physically fit and motivated with the ability to work within a team environment
