About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides comprehensive range of services across the community, aged care, sub-acute and acute care spectrum as part of an integrated service model in Wellington Shire and beyond. This represents a unique care profile linking residential aged care and acute care in one organisation.

As part of this model CGH operates 178 residential aged care beds at 4 sites in Sale, Maffra and Heyfield in partnership with Heyfield Hospital/ Laurina Lodge and Stretton Park Inc. These two organisations are well respected and embedded local not for profit organisations with which CGH has long standing management agreements.

About the Role

An exciting and unique opportunity exists for an experienced and dynamic Aged Care Executive to lead and oversee aged care and sub-acute services within a regional health and aged care service. This role is ideal for a strategic and forward-thinking leader looking to expand their expertise across multiple care settings.

As the Director of Aged Care Services, you will be responsible for the governance, operational leadership, and strategic direction of four residential aged care facilities and two hospitals. This includes:

  • Two public residential aged care facilities

  • Two not-for-profit community aged care homes

  • One public sub-acute hospital

  • One private hospital

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality aged care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in person-centred care. Additionally, you will provide executive sponsorship and oversight for several larger capital works projects aimed at enhancing aged care and hospital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple aged care and hospital facilities;

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence in aged care service delivery;

  • Implement innovative models of care to enhance individual’s outcomes; and

  • Work closely with three different boards to align strategic goals and ensure cohesive service delivery across all services.

About You:

You are an experienced aged care executive with a passion for excellence in residential and sub-acute care. You bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in aged care and/or health services management;

  • A strong understanding of aged care governance, funding, and compliance;

  • Excellent strategic planning, operational management, and stakeholder engagement skills;

  • The ability to navigate complex service environments and drive positive change;

  • A commitment to person-centred care and quality improvement; and

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, business, or aged care management.
