The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to provide a critical role within Emergency Management.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) and Emergency Management Technology and Data (EM T&D)
The work of the Emergency Management group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency. Emergency Management Technology and Data (EM T&D) is responsible for state and some national technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems.
About the Role
The Senior Contract Administrators' primary responsibility is to support the EM T&D Contract Manager in the establishment and maintenance of robust contract administration processes and procedures for key national, state and EM T&D technology contracts.
Some of your duties will include:
- Ensuring that contract management actions are undertaken in line with Victorian Government Procurement Board guidelines and/or best practice.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including vendors, Government Departments and Emergency Service Organisations (ESOs).
- Strong financial capability to ensure the department achieves Value for Money through analysis of quotation(s), developing budgets, tracking actual spend, providing variance reports and updating the suppliers service payment model.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Technical Expertise
- Experience in managing complex contracts
- Demonstrated experience in developing effective relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of service.
- Strong financial and budget management experience, ability to analyse financial reports in relation to service payment models and quotation analysis, using financial management tools (such as Oracle and Zycus)
- Information and data management (including Office365; Excel, Word etc).
- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in contract management or a related field, demonstrating a strong sense of business acumen.
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in a relevant field are highly desirable (such as Business Management, Commercial or Legal).
- 5-10 years' experience in working in commercial, contract or vendor management.
- Government experience desirable but not essential.
