About This Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and organised part-time Student Administration Officer to provide a high level of professional service to students and other stakeholders of the Business, Economics and Law Faculty, through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate and informative advice and services. You will work in an established team where multiple colleagues share the same types of responsibilities in a supportive environment. This position is responsible for completing a diverse range of administrative processing tasks and associated day-to-day problem resolution and maintenance of administrative systems. You will also contribute to the development and administration of policy and procedures in relation to student and academic matters within the faculty.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide accurate and timely advice to current and prospective students and process documentation in relation to admission, enrolment, progression, exchange, examinations, graduation matters, etc. in programs designated by the Manager, Student Administration.

  • Apply a sound general knowledge of student administration and develop specific knowledge of university rules, policies and procedures relating to student and academic administration.

  • Assist the Manager, Student Administration and/or Senior Manager, Academic Services on matters relating to student and academic administration.

  • Liaise with other Faculties, Schools and Central Administration regarding matters of policy and procedures related to student administration.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative procedures for degree programs offered through the Faculty.

  • Represent the Faculty and its schools at TSXPO, Open Day, graduation ceremonies and other events as required.

  • Act as Secretary to Faculty Committees as required, including preparation of agendas and minutes and taking follow-up action.

  • Be responsible for various projects as determined by the Manager, Student Administration and/or Senior Manager, Academic Services.

  • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor.

About You
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • A sound understanding of key administrative processes relating to student and academic administration, particularly in relation to admissions, enrolments, progression and graduation.

  • Knowledge of University student computer systems e.g. SI-net and Business Objects, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.

  • High level written and oral communication skills.

  • A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service.

  • An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check etc.
