Location: Lowood and Ipswich.

Renumeration: $24.87 - $28.09 per hour. Renumeration for the position will be based on previous experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate Health Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team at Healthy Lifestyles Australia. The ideal candidate will be based locally and have the flexibility to work across both our Lowood and Ipswich office locations as required. You will work alongside our administrative staff to support our clinical team to provide allied health services within the South East Queensland region.

Healthy Lifestyles Australia (HLA) has been providing comprehensive healthcare services in Queensland for the past 17 years, with a unique and dynamic clinical team consisting of experienced Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists and Diabetes Educators. We currently service over 120 medical centres and facilities.

We specialise in chronic disease management and prevention, however, can also assist in a wide variety of cases (e.g. sports performance, aged care consultation, insurance, public speaking, exercise group classes, etc). Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyles in the Australian population and to prevent and manage chronic disease through physical activity and nutrition.

About The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health Receptionist to join our proactive company. You will be providing high quality reception and secretarial services to the patients, and clinical staff of Healthy Lifestyles Australia. You will be working between our Lowood and Ipswich offices on a full time basis. Training will be conducted at our Head Office in Lowood.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fast-paced reception environment that makes and receives a large volume of calls each day. You must be comfortable and willing to answer and talk on the phone to book patients in and assist with their enquiries.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Book and coordinate patient appointments, reschedules, and cancellations while ensuring optimal scheduling.
  • Handle patient inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Liaise and coordinate with patients and their families, allied health staff and other health professionals, service providers and medical centres.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills by answering the phone in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately input data into the company's database or management system.
  • Support the allied health staff of Healthy Lifestyles Australia in an administrative capacity.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous medical or allied health reception experience or experience in an administrative environment (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Experience using a practice management software and/or have experience working with new and unfamiliar software programs (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Experience and sufficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint or other cloud storage systems.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills and ability to operate independently.
  • Competent communicating effectively with a diverse variety of patients, both in person and over the phone.
  • Competent typing skills (60wpm or greater) with high accuracy.
  • Committed to developing their skills in a positive longer-term commitment to Healthy Lifestyles Australia.
  • Have a current Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle and commit to travel associated with the position.
