Make an Impact: Long-Term RN3 Nurse Consultant Opportunity in Psychosis Care

As an RN3 Nurse Consultant, you'll be at the forefront of providing exceptional care to individuals experiencing psychosis within our Noarlunga Psychosis Team. Utilizing your expertise in mental health nursing, you'll develop personalized care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary treatment interventions, and foster a supportive environment for patients and their families. About the role:

Reporting to the Team Manager & Nurse Director, this role provides clinical nursing/midwifery expertise on a range of clinical activities, including mental health and psychosocial assessments, risk assessments, treatment and care planning, therapeutic interventions, advocacy and liaison with other community service providers and undertakes clinical care coordination as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Specialist Community Mental Health Service. Duties for the role will include:

• Integrate contemporary information and evidence with personal experience to support the decision making, innovative thinking and objective analysis that is expected at this level eg Expert clinical knowledge underpins and informs their ability to support, lead and/or provide expert clinical care to improve and optimise nursing/midwifery care.
• Contribute to the development of, implementation of, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes and lead in their area of expertise.
• Provides leadership and direction, acts a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person;

About you:

• Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
• Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
