We are looking to hire a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Aged or Disabled Carer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the utmost care and support to the elderly and disabled members of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting clients with their daily personal tasks and activities such as showering, dressing, meal preparations, etc.
2. Implementing personalised care plans designed to meet each individual’s requirements and enhancing their quality of life.
3. Monitoring and reporting regarding the health status and overall wellbeing of the clients and promptly identifying any changes or concerns.
4. Providing companionship and mental support to the clients, engaging them in meaningful activities to promote their intellectual and social autonomy.
5. Assisting with physical exercises and mobility to maintain or improve clients' health and independence.
6. Assisting with administering medications and performing non-complex care procedures as per the directives provided by health professionals.
7. Coordinating with medical professionals for regular health check-ups of clients.
8. Maintaining accurate records of services provided, any notable changes or observations.
9. Ensuring the maintenance of confidentiality and respect for clients at all times.
Required Qualifications:
1. A Certificate III or IV in aged care, disability care, or an equivalent qualification is desired.
2. Prior experience in working with the elderly or disabled individuals would be beneficial.
3. Proficiency in handling emergency situations and basic first-aid and CPR training are mandatory.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
5. Genuine empathy for the elderly and disabled and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
6. A clean record, with no history of abuse, negligence, or misconduct.
7. An understanding of privacy and confidentiality laws pertaining to the field of healthcare.
8. The capacity to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
9. The ability to stand for long hours and perform physically demanding tasks.
10. Valid driver's license is preferred, as travelling to clients' houses may be part of the job.
