What you'll do

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will perform complex and diverse technical procedures and apply independent scientific judgement in Transfusion. You will be responsible for the safe provision of appropriate blood products and to provide advice to clinical units and laboratory staff.

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary degree qualification (or equivalent) applicable to Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Has the availability to participate in a 24/7 roster including weekends.
  • Is able to perform relevant methods and procedures independently, developing the ability to undertake more complex tasks with clinical experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively as a team member under the direction of more senior practitioners, producing an effective work output and quality.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, client focus and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and ability to comply with organisational policies and procedures, and assist the laboratory to comply with all relevant legislative, administrative, and professional standards including meeting NATA / ISO / TGA accreditation / certification requirements.
