Senior Geologist
Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, MRM produces and processes zinc, lead, and silver from our open-cut mine. Our products are then transported to the Bing Bong loading facility and shipped worldwide, used in everyday products across mobility, infrastructure, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:
Management of safe work practices for all geology processesManagement of the grade control system for waste and ore classificationEnsure routine geological data is collected and managed in a timely manner to support the grade control systemProviding geological inputs into all the planning horizonsCompletion of monthly reporting and reconciliationsManagement of costs including operational and capital budgetsManagement of statutory reporting requirements on exploration tenements and mining leasesPlanning and execution of exploration and resource definition programmes, including contractor managementProvide mentoring, coaching, and development for direct reportsDeliver on continuous improvement projects
Successful Applicants Will Have:
Demonstrated leadership of high performing teams within open cut operationsExperience using Datashed, Vulcan, Leapfrog, or similarPrevious experience managing contractor engagementExcellent attention to detail, collaborative, team player with a self-starter attitude
