We currently have a permanent – part time position available at 0.8 FTE (64 hours per fortnight) for a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse specialising in chemotherapy. In this vital role, you will manage, coordinate, and deliver specialist care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, acting as a resource for the Goldfields region. You'll use your leadership and advanced nursing skills to enhance the assessment and rehabilitation of chemotherapy patients, ensuring the highest standards of care.Overview
The Chemotherapy Nurse is responsible for maintaining clinical excellence in nursing practice, coordinating the operational management of the unit on a shift-by-shift basis, and fostering a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This position also includes participation in quality improvement initiatives and resource planning, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services.
Ideal Candidate
The perfect candidate will:
Hold registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.Demonstrate advanced nursing practice and skills within the chemotherapy setting.Exhibit strong planning, coordination, and decision-making capabilities.Possess well-developed team leadership and interpersonal skills.Show proficiency in written and verbal communication.Incorporate quality and risk management principles into nursing practice.Have excellent computer skills for navigating online resources and communications.

Deliver advanced nursing care, including assessment, planning, and evaluation for chemotherapy patients.Act as a clinical expert, providing advice on clinical standards and practices.Coordinate operational management of the unit on a shift-by-shift basis.Assist in monitoring nursing practices and implementing improvements.Identify patient educational needs and facilitate learning opportunities.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent. The region supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism. Mining is the predominant sector in the central and northern parts of the region, with a well-established agricultural sector in the south.
