Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee Clinical Genetics will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.About The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit as an Advanced Trainee, where you will be responsible for:
The provision of an effective and efficient medical service within the objectives and philosophies of the Paediatric & Reproductive Genetics Unit (PRGU), WCHN and the Adult Genetics Unit (AGU), CALHN. May also attend Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Regional Centers.Under supervision, provide medical care to public and private inpatients and outpatients, and participate in teaching and research activities. Encourage and support teamwork amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes.
50% of the position is with Adult Genetics Unit at Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and 50 % is with the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit Women’s & Children’s Health Network.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent,Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General RegistrationSatisfactorily completed RACP Basic Paediatric Training requirements and progressed to Advanced Trainee Ability to work effectively with Clinical Geneticists, Genetic Counsellors, other medical staff, pathologists, laboratory staff, clerical staff, genetics database staff, medical colleagues and nursing and other paramedical staff.Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleaguesAbility to work under stressful conditions and/or high workloadsProblem solving and decision-making skills (both clinical and individual)
