About our Company

Affinity Fire Engineering is a specialised consultancy firm servicing key industry players throughout Australia and the UK. We are currently seeking an administration assistant to join our Melbourne office for a 12-month contract for maternity leave cover, with potential to extend. Your role will be to support the management and engineering teams in the Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne offices. Mentoring and support will be provided through the company directors and administration staff.

To be successful in this role you must be able to manage a variety of administrative duties while maintaining a professional attitude, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • General reception duties

  • Administration duties

  • Accounting skills including accounts payable and receivable

  • Report to Directors on administration direction / duties

  • Data entry and workflow management

  • Support Management Team

  • Support Engineers

  • Organise staff travel and events

  • MS Office Product

Essentials

  • Reliable, proactive and independent

  • Well-mannered, excellent communicator and professional

  • Ability work well within a team, as well as independently

  • High attention to detail

  • Adaptable to varying workloads, to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Time management and organisational skills

Skills and Experience

  • Strong computer literacy including: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience in general office accounting / book keeping and associated programs desirable (i.e. Xero)

  • The ability to follow through with all tasks, assuming responsibility for nominated tasks and requiring minimum supervision

  • A strong customer service focus providing consistent support to internal and external stakeholders

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday), with flexible start and finish times.

It is a 12 Month Contract for Maternity Leave Cover, with potential to extend.

Salary is negotiable based on qualifications, experience and ability.
