Haileybury is seeking a passionate and experienced Chinese Language Assistant to join our team in a part-time (0.9 FTE), ongoing position based at our Senior School campus in Berwick. While the primary location is Berwick, travel to our Brighton and City campuses may be required. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and enrich students’ learning as they develop their Chinese language skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Support Student Learning: Reinforce speaking skills in one-on-one or small group settings, assist with classroom activities, and extend or support students based on their language proficiency.
- Resource Preparation & Differentiation: Help prepare teaching resources and tailor reading materials to suit varying levels of language fluency.
- Monitor Progress & Collaborate: Track student progress, maintain communication with language teaching staff, and support with behavioural or learning concerns.
About You
At Haileybury we are seeking brilliant teachers. We are looking for team members who possess the following skills;
- Native speaker of applicable language
- Sound knowledge of applicable language history and culture
- Familiarity with the Victorian and Australian applicable language curriculum
- Experience as a Languages teacher or assistant in middle years applicable language classrooms.
