About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO) provides legal services to government specifically to Ministers, departments and other public sector agencies. Within the Commercial, Environment, and Native Title Section (CENT), Solicitors provide legal services in relation to the full range of the government’s commercial and land related activities and their environmental, planning and native title aspects. This includes providing legal advice, negotiation and document preparation on major government commercial projects.

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor to join the CENT sections team outposted to Renewal SA. As the South Australian Government's leading urban development agency, Renewal SA improve the lives of all South Australians now and into the future by leading, supporting and driving investment and growth through property and projects including major property developments such as the former West End brewery site, Bowden and festival plaza. Amongst general commercial and property work, the role will have a significant focus on property development and construction law. The role will provide high quality legal services without supervision or direction on highly complex and sensitive matters relevant to Renewal SA.
The role will also provide leadership and supervision to junior legal practitioners dedicated to Renewal SA, management of external legal referrals and will be the primary contact for executive personnel within Renewal SA. Successful applicants will be split their time across the Renewal SA and CSO offices, both located within the Adelaide CBD. Applicants may also be considered for other roles.
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted practicing certificate within South Australia.
