About the role
WDHS is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (Gr 2) for a Maternity leave position within our Occupational Therapy team,
32 hours per week for a fixed term contract up until (27/02/2026).
We pride ourselves on our strong, supportive teamwork and provision of high-quality healthcare to our consumers.
This position will see the successful applicant working across a variety of clinical areas, programs and workgroups, providing occupational services to acute, rehabilitation, aged care and community clients of Western District Health Service and other agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised interventions to meet individual client needs.
Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team, to ensure the optimum outcomes for clients.
Complete accurately and legible documentation of assessments, interventions and client progress, adhering to legal and organisational standards.
Maintain up to date client records and assist with statistical data collection according to organisation/program requirements.
Actively participate in the development and evaluation of programs aimed at improving client outcomes.
Assist with the supervision and mentoring of students (including work experience placements, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students).
Contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and initiatives.
Participate in meetings, seminars and conferences as directed by the organisation.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Strictly adhere to workplace confidentiality requirements in all aspects of practice.
About You
Selection Criteria:
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services in a multidisciplinary setting, particularly in acute, rehabilitation, aged care and community services
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A commitment to professional development and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
