About the Role
Reporting to the Principal VCE Vocational Major, the Assistant Principal provides educational and operational leadership across a growing senior secondary team.
You will leadcurriculum delivery, professional learning, wellbeing initiatives, and strategic partnerships-ensuring alignment with MP's Education Principles and compliance with VCAA, VRQA, and ASQA frameworks. The role plays a critical part in shaping the Melbourne Polytechnic Secondary Precinct and ensuring high-quality student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a high-performing team of teachers and support staffDrive curriculum and assessment design aligned to MP's Education PrinciplesManage program delivery, staffing, enrolments, and compliance systems (e.g., VASS, Strata)Foster a strong culture of professional learning, inclusion and continuous improvementBuild meaningful partnerships with students, families, community and industry stakeholdersEnsure the program meets all quality, audit and regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience Required
Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or eligibility)Relevant postgraduate teaching qualificationMinimum 5 years' experience in VCE VM, VCAL or pre-vocational youth educationProven leadership in curriculum, teaching practice and school operationsStrong stakeholder engagement, mentoring and team development skillsCapacity to lead change, drive innovation, and manage complex programsCurrent Working with Children Check and National Police Check
