Duties

Wellbeing Support provides services to emergency service personnel (including volunteers) and state service employees within;

  • Ambulance Tasmania
  • Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management
  • Forensic Science Service Tasmania
  • State Emergency Service
  • Tasmania Fire Service
  • Tasmania Police

and may provide services to immediate family members.

The Program Development Coordinator will manage the review, development and delivery of a range of wellbeing training and educational programs that support and enhance wellbeing

Essential Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks

The Head of the State Service has determined that a person nominated for appointment to this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. Any relevant serious criminal offence or repeated serious offences over any period, which are not mitigated by additional information, may provide grounds for declining an application for appointment. Such offences would include, but are not limited to:

  • Arson and fire setting;
  • Sexual offences;
  • Dishonesty (e.g. theft, burglary, breaking and entering, fraud);
  • Deception (e.g. obtaining an advantage by deception);
  • Making false declarations;
  • Violent crimes and crimes against the person;
  • Malicious damage and destruction to property
  • Trafficking of narcotic substance;
  • False alarm raising.
Desirable Requirements
  • Understanding of health and wellbeing factors including the social and organisational environments that impact emergency service workers would be advantageous.
  • Degree in a relevant area, with at least two years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and/or training in the field.
