About The Role
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the role of Clinic Nurse RN is to Conduct frontline nursing duties as per the IUIH Model of Care. It is the role of the Clinic Nurse to contribute, where possible, to ATSICHS comprehensive health support services to clients with the aim to achieve improved health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This includes effective triage, prevention, education, support and recalls. The Clinic Nurse will provide education to ATSICHS clients with regards to their care and promote opportunities for improved health outcomes.
Duties
- Provide quality nursing practice within an Aboriginal primary health care model of service by assisting the medical/primary health care team and effectively planned coordinate own and team’s workload to achieve results.
- Understanding of the principles of primary health care and the ability to work with a wide variety of professionals and the public.
- Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal to ensure quality medical documentation.
- Vaccine and cold chain officer & infection prevention and control coordinator.
- Demonstrated clinic experience and the ability to implement and support a comprehensive model of chronic disease care with a view to achieve better outcomes for clients.
- Competence in the use of clinical software systems and other technology, the internet and desktop applications e.g. outlook, Mmex, LogiQC, word, spreadsheets and telehealth software.
- Operate within clinical policy and procedures at all times.
- Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of clinical service provision.
- Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

Benefits
- Base salary $81,302 to $90,886 per annum pro rata (Depending on Qualifications and experience).
- Additional 11.5% Superannuation + Access to salary packaging (Increases your take home pay).
- Permanent Part Time position.

COVID-19 Requirement
Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher.
- Full un-restricted AHPRA registration.
- National Clearance Police Check.
- Previous demonstrable experience in relevant nursing field.
- Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
- Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
- Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
Preferred:
- Minimum two (2) years experience in a primary health setting.
- Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Immunisation endorsement and experience
- Previous experience in a multidisciplinary health team.
- Previous experience in chronic disease management.
