About the role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Trainer Assessor will play a vital role in delivering high-quality training programs to our clients site workforce, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles both safely and effectively.

This site-based role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract with a flexible point of hire. 8:6 roster with FIFO ex Melbourne or BIBO ex Adelaide options available.

Role responsibilities:
  • Delivery of engaging and effective training programs aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Identify training gaps and develop training solutions
  • Assess the competency of operators using a variety of methods, including practical demonstrations, written tests and observations
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, assessments, and competency achievement
  • Provide constructive feedback to trainees, supporting their learning and development
  • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and relevant to current industry standards
  • Maintain a safe and professional learning environment
  • Collaborate with other trainers, supervisors, and management to ensure training programs meet operational needs
About you:
  • Minimum Cert IV qualifications as a Trainer and Assessor or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of mining safety regulations, legislation and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training for site inductions, working at heights, excavator, skid steer, front end loader, CPR, four wheel drive, etc.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to assess competency using a range of assessment methods
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Mine Rescue, First Aid) is desirable
  • Previous experience working on an operational mine site is essential
