Position Summary:

The Service Delivery Support Officer (Roving)provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Director of Service Delivery and the broader Operations Directorate. The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of administrative services, contributing to informed decision-making processes, maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements, and supporting internal teams through supervision, resource coordination, and project execution. The position also requires the ability to travel regularly to remote communities by light aircraft or self-driving a 4WD, including overnight stays.

The key duties of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide quality administrative support to ensure timely Council Service Delivery.
  • Collect and compile information and prepare documentation and correspondence in line with quality and organisational requirements to support information flow and inform decision making.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including raising and collecting purchase orders if required and completing routine financial transactions, in compliance with agency standards and procedures.
  • Update and maintain records and databases, complying with systems and processes to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.
  • Delivering multiple business support activities and services in line with agreed standards, timeframes and milestones, given tight timeframes and the need to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilising sound judgment and decision-making skills to monitor and respond to general email correspondence and incoming calls specifically when backfilling administration positions both in communities and Darwin.
  • Fleet Management (Including but not limited to maintaining asset register, purchasing, tracking, registrations, servicing, support, auction, livery).
  • Tenancy Management (Including but not limited to maintaining tenancy agreements, condition reports, tenancy records, power and water documentation).
  • In collaboration with the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, support the maintenance and updates of the service delivery section on the organisation’s website, newsletters and social media platforms.
  • Provide reports to various business leads on necessary actions and key focus areas.
  • Oversee staff uniform management, including ordering, stock monitoring, record-keeping, distribution, and coordination with the Customer Relations Officer, ensuring smooth issuance and collection upon employee exit.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder relationships are maintained, and non-compliance of key performance indicators are escalated to the Director of Service Delivery for resolution.
  • Upskill workforce to book flights, accommodation and fleet booking.

About You

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration and / or equivalent work-related experience.
  • High level knowledge and experience in office administration including the ability to conduct research and draft high level letter submissions, reports and email correspondence.
  • Advanced skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to quickly learn new systems as required.
  • Understanding of financial practices with relevant working experience using Corporate Financial Systems.
  • Experience with Xero/Approval Max or other financial systems
  • Current National Criminal History Check.
  • Current Working with Children (OCHRE) Card.
  • Current Northern Territory Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel regularly to remote communities by light aircraft or self-driving a 4WD, including overnight stays.
