About the Role
You'll work with clients under VCAT appointment who require targeted financial support. These clients may own property, live in supported accommodation, or participate in programs like the NDIS.
You'll manage complex financial matters, including budgets, entitlements, and payments—while building relationships with clients and their support networks to ensure decisions align with their needs, wishes, and wellbeing.
This is a client-facing role where empathy, professionalism and sound financial judgement are key. You'll be supported by experienced peers and leaders in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
What You'll Do
- Administer day-to-day financial affairs for clients who cannot manage them independently
- Build budgets, oversee payments, manage property and entitlements
- Liaise with clients, families, advocates and support services to determine client needs and preferences
- Support clients to access benefits, services, and entitlements such as NDIS or trust income
- Prepare reports, recommendations and legal correspondence when required
- Work cross-functionally with internal experts (legal, tax, financial planning)
Skills & Experience
- Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets or financial decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, active listening, and the ability to have difficult conversations
- A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals
- Experience with complex client cases or financial oversight
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant legislation (e.g., Guardianship and Administration Act)
