Business Analyst - Healthcare

Robert Half
Sale Full-day Full-time

Description:

The Company

Our client is one of the leading hospitals in Melbourne standing clear of their competition locally in certain specialist areas and as such is an internationally recognised leader in the Health Care sector. Their world-class leading-edge services are the envy of many and make them a highly sort after employer to work for. Providing a vital state-wide service to Victorians, our client is constantly looking to evolve and they are ready to embark on another ambitious project that will this time reshape the way in which their Pathology service is conducted.

The Role

A shared pathology project was launched in late 2020 as a collaboration between two major health services to explore the development of a joint pathology service. The aim is to create a single, integrated service by assessing the benefits and risks, drawing on past work and new findings. This initiative is part of wider pathology system reforms being led by the Department of Health.

The project includes building a shared operating model covering clinical and operational processes, quality and safety systems, corporate support, and a joint laboratory information system. A Business Analyst will be appointed to support this work, reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the team developing the shared system.

  • Provide guidance and support to project team members and business stakeholders.
  • Document, validate, and gain sign-off for all business requirements.
  • Interpret operational workflows and technical needs to develop effective business solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, analyse, and document requirements aligned to business goals.
  • Gather and analyse data to support decision-making, solution design, and workflow evaluation.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve risks and issues throughout the project.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Provide post-go-live support, including during the "hyper care" period and for issue resolution.
  • Create and deliver process flow maps and solution design documentation.
  • Collaborate with operational and technical teams on workflow development, documentation, configuration, testing, and deployment of system functions.

Your Profile

This role will suit someone who is quietly confident, composed under pressure, and purpose-driven.

  • Certified and experienced in business analysis, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of business needs and ability to add value beyond project delivery.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and organisations.
  • Skilled in negotiation and influencing outcomes.
  • Confident in managing and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Clear and effective communicator at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business analysis tools.
  • Proactive and driven, with a high level of initiative.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment
