The Opportunity

Working with a multidisciplinary team, the Montessori Team Lead is responsible for delivering and leading the provision of care following the Montessori model which is committed to providing compassionate and innovative care for our elderly residents promoting independence, dignity, and a sense of purpose.

We are seeking a full- time Montessori Lead in our beautiful Glenara Lakes Facility in Launceston.

This role is pivotal in promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents and to partner with residents, their families and other staff to meet residents’ physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs. This includes everyday activities such as eating, personal hygiene tasks, mobility, household tasks and leisure activities. Care workers will collaborate with the team to achieve positive outcomes for residents and escalate any specific health concerns as required.

The successful applicant will also provide operational leadership to deliver quality clinical care to consumers in accordance with operational and legislative requirements, including:

  • Skills in leading and managing small to medium teams.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement.
  • Capacity to achieve and deliver on regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with the health care team to achieve resident outcomes.
  • Create a prepared environment that promotes independence, choice and meaningful engagement.
  • Providing and supporting others to achieve excellence in Montessori area.


Skills & Experience

  • Experience as a successful Leader.
  • Good experience in leading various types of team members.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AN-ACC processes, assessments, and reviews.


Compliance requirements:

Southern Cross Care (Tasmania) Inc. requires that the following compliance checks be completed prior to application for this role.

  • Satisfactory national police check within the last three years
  • Tasmanian Working with vulnerable persons registration with NDIS endorsement
  • Satisfactory evidence of working rights in Australia
