An exciting leadership opportunity exists to lead the Campaigns, Governance and Research teams within the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol Branch as Director, Campaigns, Governance and Research at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.As Director, Campaigns, Governance and Research, you will lead the delivery of complex campaigns and projects, provide high-level strategic advice to the Chief Communications Officer, and manage a multidisciplinary team of marketing, campaign, and research professionals to support informed decision-making.
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer and Chief of Protocol, the role offers a chance to provide expert guidance on advertising and governance matters and contribute to both strategic and operational priorities.
This position is ideal for a driven professional with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities, proven project management experience, and a strategic mindset. The Director will play a key role in delivering high-quality advice and acting as a trusted partner across the business, while managing critical priorities and initiatives.
About you
As our ideal candidate you will have:
* Proven senior leadership in communications within a large and complex organisation, including management of complex projects and issues, with highly developed conceptual and analytical skills.
* Proven experience in managing, leading and mentoring diverse teams in dynamic organisational environments, creating conditions for high performance and continuous improvements.
* Proven high-level interpersonal, representational and communication skills, with a track record of influencing and negotiating effectively at senior levels and building strong relationships across government and non-government stakeholders.
* Excellent understanding of Victoria's advertising and communications landscape, including senior-level governance, approval processes and regulatory frameworks across the Victorian Public Service and knowledge of the Master Agency Media (MAMs) contract.
* Demonstrated experience in providing authoritative and concise advice of the highest level, under pressure along with proven relationship management, and customer service skills in delivering high quality outcomes, including at a whole-of-government level.
* Proven experience leading consultation and stakeholder engagement processes to achieve impactful outcomes, with a strong focus on continuous process improvement.
* Extensive track record in strategic planning, providing timely analysis and recommendations in fast-moving, complex environments.
* Demonstrated capacity to steer complex, cross-functional projects, leveraging partnerships across business areas to deliver on time and to a high standard.
* Extensive campaign experience, with skills and knowledge across a range of marketing and communication functions, preferably within the public sector.
