As the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting young people in detention to achieve both academic and personal goals.
Cleveland Education and Training Centre operates a 48 week year model and as such you will need to be able to work flexibly within the roster system. Normal leave entitlements apply.
This role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, until 03 October 2025, unless otherwise determined.

As the Centre provides education and training delivery for 48 weeks of the year you will be part of a innovative and passionate team of educators, who have a strong culture of collaboration and co-operation in achieving positive outcomes for all young people.
About the Role
The key responsibilities are the assessment of all young people who are enrolled at Cleveland Education and Training Centre and subsequent support planning for each young person. This will involve working closely will all stakeholders and monitoring support provisions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
- Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
About You
You must be able to work both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and have experience working with young people from complex and challenging backgrounds.
