Description:
About the role
This role plays a key part in improving public transport accessibility by coordinating the delivery of the PTA’s Bus Stop Accessibility Works Program, Bus Shelter Subsidy Program, and other roadside infrastructure projects. It involves managing a wide range of works from passenger boarding area upgrades to bus shelter installations and civil construction tasks such as footpaths and pram ramps. The position requires close collaboration with contractors, local governments, and Main Roads WA to ensure infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport and PTA operational needs.
In addition to project and contract management, the role supports community engagement by handling enquiries and resolving complaints related to bus stop placements and infrastructure works. It also involves reviewing and approving bus stop locations, overseeing design solutions, and contributing to the development of policies and systems to support accessible infrastructure. The role uses internal systems like the Transperth Route Information System (TRIS) to manage works, track progress, and generate reports that inform future planning and continuous improvement.
