The Opportunity

In your role as Coordinator Community Facilities Planning, you willbe responsible for leading and managing the delivery of key Community and Early Years Facilities' planning and projects. In addition to this, you will also lead and coordinate strategic projects, plans and frameworks that provide strategic and technical advice to Council and the community in relation to the planning, design and management of community facilities projects.

This includes working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic, environmental, infrastructure and community planning supports the community in accessing the services they need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the use of qualitative and quantitative research, analysis, and evaluation skills to plan and prioritise Community and Early Years facilities in an integrated manner that meets community needs and considers community activation, place and design outcomes.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to support the delivery of key projects and plans, including but not limited to growth area planning, masterplan development, place based initiatives, and facility design.
  • In collaboration with the PMO, lead the management of Community and Early Years facilities projects management (from planning to project handover), including project consultation/liaison, coordination of project and stakeholder-based working group meetings, design review, tender review, and project completion.
  • Lead and manage the development of Project Briefs and Business Cases using relevant Project Management Framework (PMF) documentation and reporting to support the planning and delivery of Community and Early Years facilities.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Qualifications in Social Planning, Strategic Planning or lesser qualification with extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the leadership, planning and management of community facilities projects
  • Current Working with Children Check.
