ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Planner is a critical contributor to the successful delivery of sustainable performance for the business, providing a data-driven baseline from which to execute, analyse and improve. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for site planning, and work scheduling in line with TransAlta’s Work Management Standard and championing processes and tools associated with planning and scheduling to support the Plant Manager Southern Goldfields.
This is a residential role in Kalgoorlie. Relocation to Kalgoorlie will be considered for the right applicant. TransAlta offers a competitive remuneration package including private health insurance for you & your family and eligibility for an annual bonus.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Accountable to plan all priority 1 to 4 work per the TransAlta Work Management Process
- Planning to a high quality and considers the 12-week rolling major events calendar and relevant equipment asset management strategies
- Accurately resources the work packages prior to scheduling]
- Arranges specialist or external resources (where required) to support the completion of complex work
- Establishes relationships with suppliers and maintains regular engagement to ensure parts and materials are delivered on time
- Identifies opportunities for standardisation across sites
- Develops SAP master data to embed standard work packages into task lists
- Identify errors in master data and address inconsistency
- Supports the automation of planning processes by proactively turning tacit knowledge into system embedded information
- Periodic audit of the work management process, and identifies and implements improvements to the maintenance process on site
- Process champion of the detailed associated processes, to direct staff on process and timeline requirements
- Ensure parts and equipment are available for all work orders
- Perform stocktakes of store inventory
- Leads the work management meeting
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industry in a planning position
- SAP experience with PM Planning, Work Management and Master Mata, MM Purchasing, Material Masters & Cycle Counts
- Proficiency in MS office suite of tools and capable of learning key position specific applications
- Formal training and qualifications in Asset Management and Maintenance planning is desirable
- Proven organisational skills
- Well-developed communication skills

- Previous power station maintenance planning experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- As required, travel to sites throughout Australia
- Valid Police clearance (within the last 6 months)
- Permanent work rights in Australia
