Description:
Bondi Born are seeking a highly organised and motivated design room coordinator with technical skills to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in womenswear and swimwear production and a passion for sustainability, quality and innovation.
You’ll work closely with our creative and productions teams and play a pivotol role in ensuring product development runs smoothly from concept through to production handover.
- To support and assist the design and production department in various aspects relating to the development of seasonal RTW and swim collections from design conception through to production handover
- Assist in the creation and consistent updating of spec sheets, range overview sheets, tracking documents, BOM’s
- Work with the patternmaker to create detailed technical packs including visual POM’s (points of measurements)
- Working with the production manager and patternmaker to ensure garments meet specifications
- Assist with fabric testing
- Assist in systematically updating G-sheets and documents relating to all aspects of product development (spec sheets, tracking documents, raw materials rundown documents, range overview sheets, style number sheets, sample progress sheets)
- Preparation of tech packs and trims necessary for sampling and bulk
- Assist in the coordination of sample cutting and making
- Maintaining and tidying the design and sample rooms
- Filing and organisation of digital files
- SMS and bulk garment quality control
- Assist in organising fittings, setting up and steaming samples, preparing relevant documents for the team pre and post fit sessions
- Assist the production, logistics, and brand teams in providing required samples and information associated with design development
- 3 to 5 years experience in womenswear, local and offshore production, possibly as a Garment Technician
- Strong technical experience with good understanding of spec sheets, garment construction and basic patternmaking
- Strong skills in Excel and Google G-sheets
- Strong skills in Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)
- Organised and self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task and take responsibility for delegated areas is a must
- Good team player able to work closely and cooperatively with all office colleagues
- Strong communication skill liaising with local cutters, makers, pattern makers and service providers
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Passion for producing quality garments from development to dispatch
- Strong ethical and moral values and a passion for sustainability
