About the role

The role of the Personal Assistant to the Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring the Unit Manager has all relevant information and documentation required to make well and informed decisions. Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating a high volume of tasks, correspondence, reports, presentation materials and financial information and other actions across the Unit. In addition, this role will see you working with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that tasks assigned to relevant sections and units are delivered on time to ensure the effective delivery of work for the organisation.

The Business Strategy and Performance Unit within our Water and Sewer directorate leads customer engagement and delivers community education in line with the Water and Sewer Community Engagement and Education Strategy. The Unit supports community awareness and improving the customer experience by using feedback to drive service improvements. Additionally, the Unit also manages regulatory compliance, oversees performance reporting and IPART implementation, and handles the end-to-end water billing process. Working closely with the business, the Unit identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and support the delivery of secure and reliable water and sewer services.

The Customer, Marketing and Economic Development Unit within our Community and Recreation Services directorate leads the organisation in the customer experience change program and economic and visitor economy initiatives. The Unit provides marketing and brand advice and expertise to support the organisation along with managing the destination and tourism planning for the Central Coast Region. They engage with the community providing frontline customer service through multiple channels as well as manage economic development growth strategies to achieve economic outcomes.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate III qualification in Business Administration or related field or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role.
  • Significant experience in providing high level administrative and senior manager support in a large sized organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $74.7k per annum. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $86.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 11.5% superannuation
  • We have two temporary full-time roles available.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
  • These roles are located at Wyong.
