About the role
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Practice Manager to lead and deliver project resourcing management and planning services to IT projects. Reporting to Head of IT PMO within IT Delivery, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to ensure success.
This is a newly created role and provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the University’s strategic priorities by managing enhanced operational efficiency, improved stakeholder experience, and delivery of measurable outcomes.
You will lead a high performing team to successfully deliver the necessary recruitment and resource planning support to various IT projects, solving complex situations in collaboration with IT PMO colleagues and external suppliers.
Key responsibilities

Manage the delivery of project resource planning and management services for IT Delivery, including recruitment, capability planning and implementation of best practices, tools and methodologies for IT PMO and resource demand management.

Work closely with the Program/Project Managers and IT PMO colleagues to develop and manage a consolidated project resource plan, as well as identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact delivery.

Collaborate with Program/Project Managers to ensure timely and effective recruitment and onboarding of resources.

Maintain and document processes and information to support project resource planning, recruitment, and management.

Build and maintain key relationships and collaborate with business partners, owners and stakeholders across various levels to align project requirements with the University’s goals and standards.

Collaborate with HR as a centralised management point for IT Delivery, for the recruitment of project resources and HR advisory and support.

Communicate and report on project resource recruitment and performance to IT PMO, stakeholders, and IT leadership.
About you
You are an experienced Delivery Practice Manager or equivalent, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams. You have a proven ability in leading a team, can effectively achieve desired outcomes, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Selection criteria

Relevant degree in a related discipline (e.g., Business, Management, HR) and/or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and experience working with complex programs and projects, engaging with multiple stakeholders and disciplines at all levels.

Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities to deliver to deadlines.

Strong analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Proven ability to effectively influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Demonstrated experience in reviewing, improving and optimising processes to streamline and achieve efficiency.
Desirable criteria

Experience working in the higher education, research, or similar sectors.
