Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach is a premium 4.5-star resort style hotel overlooking the beautiful, white sandy beaches of Brighton-Le-Sands and Sydney's picturesque Botany Bay. The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and on track to be one of the best event venues in NSW.


About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team at Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will also take on a supervisory role, guiding trade assistants and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborate with management, and play a crucial part in maintaining the reliability and safety of our hotel and outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up new electrical equipment and systems, ensuring proper functionality

  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues in machinery, lighting, HVAC and other electrical systems

  • Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting to identify, prevent, and resolve electrical issues

  • Ensure a safe work environment by following WHS guidelines, providing necessary safety training, and ensuring use of protective equipment

  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and any changes made to systems

  • Supervise and provide direction to trade assistants during shifts

  • Monitoring contractors' work to ensure it meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations

  • Assisting the Facilities Manager in negotiating contracts that clearly outline the scope of work, timelines, costs, and safety requirements

  • Assisting the Facilities Manager to assess contractor performance upon project completion and providing feedback or resolution if issues arise

  • Stay updated with industry regulations, best practices, and technological advancements

About you:

  • Qualified and licensed Electrician in New South Wales, Australia

  • Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Police check required for this role
