About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Food Production & Sanitation Supervisor to oversee and manage all sanitation activities within our FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing plant. The Food Production & Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for production operations, maintaining strict adherence to industry cleanliness standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a food production cleaning team of up 20 cleaners
  • Supervise and lead a team of sanitation staff, providing guidance, motivation, and ongoing training on proper cleaning procedures, safety standards, and sanitation best practices.
  • Act as the first point of contact with site management
  • Following schedules and standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • Maintain a high level of compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP), local health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Monitor sanitation practices to ensure they meet industry regulations and internal audit requirements.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Order replacements and ensure the availability of necessary sanitation materials to avoid operational delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, chemical usage, staff training, and inspection results. Provide reports on sanitation performance and address any issues that may arise.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation duties as required

About you:

We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:

  • Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday
  • This position will require working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and operational machinery.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Supervisor in a food production environment or Sanitation area
  • Must have strong knowledge of sanitation standards, food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP), and health and safety practices preferred.
  • Have knowledge of HACCP and GMP
  • Have experience in rostering and timesheet approval
  • Have a good understanding of cleaning chemicals and their correct and safe handling
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Good presentation and grooming
  • Sound communication skills
