About the role:

The Invest SA group attracts and connects local and international investors, industry, and research partners with South Australian investment opportunities and networks to support South Australia’s key economic growth sectors.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of marketing, events and communications activity which support the achievement of the department’s objectives by:

  • Insight and support in marketing planning and the provision of tactical marketing activity across the department
  • Project management of integrated events and promotional strategies
  • Development of marketing activity to effectively promote Invest SA projects and key priorities

More specifically, you will:

  • Contribute to the development of communication and marketing plans to effectively promote Invest SA projects and key priorities.
  • Plan, produce and deliver effective tactical marketing activity on time and on budget.
  • Ensure all marketing activity adheres to clear KPI’s and communication objectives.
  • Liaise, advise, and consult with a wide range of contractors, agencies and external suppliers to ensure the delivery of services to required standards within deadlines and within budget.
  • Prepare high quality briefings and other relevant correspondence that provide specialist advice and reflect government priorities
  • Promote integrated marketing activity and consistent messaging across the department’s various communications and digital teams including events, media relations, engagement, and social media
  • Contribute to and ensure a safe, diverse and healthy work environment by working in accordance with legislative requirements, the Code of Ethics for the South Australian Public Sector and departmental human resource policies.
  • Uphold the DSD Customer Service Principles and Service Standards in the provision of high quality, consistent and professional service to our customers through being responsive, knowledgeable, timely and respectful in all interactions.

Key Competencies:

To apply and succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate experience in and an understanding of:

  • Traditional and digital marketing best practice, theory, and up-to-date principles
  • Event/project planning, management and evaluation processes.
  • The South Australian Public Service processes used to plan, manage, and deliver, in conjunction with, stakeholders, all types of marketing activity including events, sponsorships and publicity activities in a timely and cost-effective manner

You will also have:

  • An understanding of marketing and communications objectives as they relate DSD’s organisational goals (eg. international trade, investment, regional migration and the transformation of the South Australian economy).
  • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both verbally and in writing with people at all levels including proven ability to consult, liaise and influence, and negotiate and manage conflict with tact and diplomacy.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage time, objectives, strategies, and priorities; to plan, organise, implement, progress, and coordinate concurrent and responsive projects to meet objectives.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary $85,790 to $95,143 pa plus superannuation

Qualifications:

  • Essential : Nil
  • Desirable : Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or equivalent.

Special Conditions:

  • The role will be offered as a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12-month contract position.
  • A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) will be required prior to employment.
