2026 Sheetmetal Apprentice Intake - Aestec Services
Aestec Services are currently seeking an Apprentice Sheetmetal Worker to join our highly motivated team for our 2026 apprentice intake.
Located in Gladstone, Queensland at our QAL & RTY site
Commencement in January 2026
Support and on the job training throughout the apprenticeship
This role is a full-time position with a 38-hour workweek for four years, offering the possibility of continued employment after the apprenticeship.
We are looking for:
- A resume detailing your experience, current school year level, volunteer work, and any project work related to this trade
- A cover letter highlighting your experience and interest in pursuing a career in this trade
- A copy of your most recent report card
- Any relevant qualifications
- Your understanding of Aestec and the services we provide
- Your understanding of the Sheetmetal trade

What can I expect as a Aestec apprentice?
- Become a trade qualified Sheetmetal worker obtaining a nationally accredited Certificate III Engineering Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal Working)
- Learn valuable job skills within the Gladstone industry

Essential Requirements for an Apprenticeship
- A strong passion for working in the desired trade
- Willingness to commit to learning your trade for 48 months
- Physical strength and stamina
- Practical and manual skills
- Ability to read, write and participate in risk assessments
- Commitment to safety and following workplace health and safety procedures
- Ability to participate in studies and on the job training to successfully complete apprenticeship
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and able to follow instructions clearly
- Willingness and desire to learn
Desirable Qualifications
- Year 12 completed as of 1st January 2026
- Driver’s licence (a provisional licence is accepted)
- Industry White Card (desirable but not required)
- A genuine interest and passion for a career in the Sheetmetal trade
