Overview
Enjoying a team approach to holistic, client-centred care, this is a great opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of aged care residents in the Carnarvon and Anchusa Nursing Homes on Kangaroo Island. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide nursing care aimed at improving residents’ health outcomes. Your duties will involve assessing residents’ needs, planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate service delivery options, and communicating changes in condition and care. You may be required to provide support and guidance to an Assistant in Nursing, Direct Care Workers or student nurses. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team. You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in aged care nursing in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will be capable of working with the elderly and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds. Committed to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within an aged care setting.
